The unitary ionic probe (804) further includes an active ion sensitive region (820) that is located on and bonded into an exterior of the elongate body (810) in a region of the proximal end (818) and an active electrode (812) in ionic communication with the active ion sensitive region (820). The unitary ionic probe (804) further includes a reference ion sensitive region (814) that is located on and bonded into the exterior of the elongate body (810) and is spaced-apart from the active ion sensitive region (820) and a reference electrode (813) in ionic communication with the reference ion sensitive region (814).
