PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure the sealing performance of a working space WS in an elevator shaft EVS, and to reduce a ventilation amount of the working space WS. SOLUTION: This method treats deposit in the elevator shaft EVS. The method is provided with a working space sectioning step for sectioning the working space WS for treatment by partitioning the inside of the elevator shaft EVS by first partitioning members 51a and 51b, a working space isolating step for sealing and isolating the working space WS from a space at an elevator hall EVH side by surrounding all elevator landing entrances and exits 23a located in the working space WS from the elevator hall EVH side by a second partitioning member 91, and a deposit treatment step for treating the deposit in the working space WS sealed by the first partitioning members 51a and 51b and the second partitioning member 91.
