PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power source device allowing a safety measure therefor to be taken against the occurrence of an abnormal load and allowing the power consumption thereof to be reduced during the occurrence of the abnormal load. SOLUTION: The power source device superposes a constant voltage DC output on a constant current AC output and supplies the superposed output to a charging roller. The power source device includes: a voltage detection circuit 40 for detecting an abnormal load on a charging power source device; a constant voltage control circuit 23 for exerting constant voltage control on the power source device; and an input shutoff circuit 10 that turns on/off the input of the power source device. If the voltage detection circuit 40 detects the abnormal load, the supply of power to the power source device is subjected to constant voltage intermittent control by the constant voltage control circuit 23 and the input shutoff circuit 10.
