PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material removal tool capable of removing a coating material covering the outer surface and the inner surface of a structure in a short time by reducing a work burden on a worker. SOLUTION: This coating material removal tool for removing the coating material covering the outer surface or the inner surface of the structure comprises: a drive motor; an end tool having a removal means for removing the coating material by rotating or reciprocating with a power output from the drive motor; a body so formed as to longitudinally extend in one direction and connected to the drive motor at one end in the longitudinal direction; and a shoulder pad so formed as to be placed on the shoulder of the worker. The end tool is so attached to the longitudinal other end of the body that the output of the drive motor can be transmitted to the removal means. The body is so directly or indirectly supported on the upper surface of the shoulder pad that the end tool and the drive motor are positioned at the front and rear of the worker, respectively.
