PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a decoloration method for fiber which enables more natural decoloring, and a discoloration method for off-white fiber, while considering environment. SOLUTION: A Xe excimer lump 2 is scanned at a predetermined position relative to a jeans 6. At a part where the denim cloth of the jeans 6 projects, the Xe excimer lamp 2 and the denim cloth are relatively approached each other, strength of UV light is relatively increased and decoloration is prompted, meanwhile, at a part where the denim cloth is recessed, the Xe excimer lamp 2 and the denim cloth are relatively apart from each other and the strength of UV light is relatively decreased and degree of decoloration promotion is decreased.
