<p>Disclosed is a method for detecting target DNA with high accuracy and in a simple manner by analyzing a sense strand and an antisense strand of the target DNA simultaneously. Also disclosed is a kit for use in the method. The method for detecting target DNA is a method for detecting target DNA composed of a sense strand having a target nucleotide sequence and an antisense strand complementary to the sense strand. In the method, a first oligonucleotide capable of hybridizing with the sense strand and a second oligonucleotide capable of hybridizing with the antisense strand are used. In the antisense strand, at least a part of a region that can hybridize with the second oligonucleotide is complementary to at least a part of a region that can hybridize with the first oligonucleotide for the sense strand. The first oligonucleotide and the second oligonucleotide are added simultaneously in a reaction solution to cause these oligonucleotides to hybridize with the target DNA, the resulting product is subjected to a ligation reaction and/or a PCR, and the product of the ligation reaction and/or the PCR is detected.</p> |
