<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing consumption of electric current of a bag making and packaging machine. <P>SOLUTION: This bag making and packaging machine for making a bag and packaging an item using the bag is provided with a seal jaw for sealing a film which is a packaging material, a heater part 201F for heating the seal jaw and a heat drive 260 for driving the part 201F.
