<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve performance of reading a bar code. <P>SOLUTION: This bar code reader has: a scanner part 18 reading a bar code image comprising bar data showing widths of a plurality of bars of the bar code from the bar code; a RAM 13 storing the bar code image that corresponds to the bar code and is used as a reference for bar data comparison; and a CPU (Central Processing Unit) 11 decoding the latest bar code image read by the scanner part 18, composing the bar data of the latest bar code image such that the bar data of the stored base data match the bar data of the latest bar code image when the decoding fails, and decoding the bar code image after the composition. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
