<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To update the communication device of a layer 2 in a system for updating the function of communication device through a network. <P>SOLUTION: An inquiry frame for making an inquiry about necessity of function update from a first communication device to a second communication device, and when receiving the inquiry frame, second communication device transmits a response frame including the function version information of the second communication device. When receiving a response frame, the first communication device determines the presence/absence of the necessity of the function update of the second communication device on the basis of the function version information included in the response frame, and when determining that the function update is necessary, the first communication device transmits an update data frame including the function update data to the second communication device, and performs the function update of the second communication device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
