PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic tape causing less off-track and having high quality and to provide a method of manufacturing the magnetic tape reducing operational man-hours and manufacturing costs. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing the magnetic tape includes a coating step S11 for coating a supporting body with a coating material, a lower layer paint and a magnetic paint to form a raw sheet, a calendering step S12 for heating and pressurizing the coated raw sheet, an aging step S13 for curing the calendered raw sheet, a servo step S14 for forming a servo pattern on the aged raw sheet, a slit step S15 for cutting the raw sheet with the servo pattern in a prescribed width to form a pancake and a loading step S16 for cutting the pancake in a prescribed length to form a magnetic tape and winding the magnetic tape around a reel.
