PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the dust preventing structure of a disk device, without adding any component, capable of preventing intrusion of dust in the inner part of a loader chassis from an opening at usual time when utilization of the opening is not needed even though the comparatively large opening enabling an operator to insert a hand finger to perform taking in/out of a disk tray with manual operation is provided to the loader chassis. SOLUTION: A closing plate piece 80 which is attachable to and detachable from the opening 13 is provided integrally with a dust cover 40 which is attachable to and detachable from the lower part of the loader chassis 10 on which a mechanism component is mounted. Alternatively, the closing plate piece 80 which is attachable to and detachable from the opening 13 is integrally provided to an upper component which is attachable to and detachable from an upper part of the loader chassis 10. A reinforcement plate 60, a shield cover 70 and the like can be selected as the upper component. A gear 30 can be selected as the mechanism component to be manually operated.
