PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device capable of improving display characteristic by moving ionic impurities mixed in a liquid crystal layer to the peripheral region. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal display device 1 includes a transparent substrate 1, a driving circuit board 3 and the liquid crystal layer 4, wherein the transparent substrate 2 has a transparent electrode 6 provided in a pixel region A and the peripheral region B, the driving circuit board 1 has a reflection pixel electrode 15 provided in the pixel region A and a peripheral region electrode 20 provided in the peripheral region B, and the d.c. component of driving voltage applied to the peripheral region electrode 20 is lower than a direct current component of driving voltage applied to the reflection pixel electrode 15.
