PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve opening/closing component mounting/demounting tool for mounting/demounting a valve opening/closing component on/from an internal combustion engine which has a valve for opening/closing a passage communicating the inside of a cylinder with the outside, an energizing member for energizing the valve in the direction of the outside as a valve closing direction, and a cam for driving the valve via the valve opening/closing component provided between the valve and itself, in the direction of the inside as a valve opening direction against the energizing force of the energizing member, even when a space around the valve opening/closing component is small. SOLUTION: The valve opening/closing component mounting/demounting tool comprises a retaining member 7 to be installed in the state of abutting on the end of the energizing member 10 in the valve closing direction, and restricting members 5, 8 for restricting the movement of the retaining member in the valve closing direction in the state that the energizing member is shrunk with the valve 14 driven in the valve opening direction by the cam 11, unlike the retaining member.
