PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a novel glycopeptide derivative which expresses an excellent activity to vancomycin-resistant enterococcus, and also expresses a stronger activity to methicillin-resistant bacteria; and a pharmaceutically acceptable salt, a hydrates, or a prodrug thereof. SOLUTION: The glycopeptide derivative is a compound expressed by formula (I), wherein R<SP>1</SP>, R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>, R<SP>4</SP>, and R<SP>5</SP>are each independently selected from the group consisting of predetermined groups.
