PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly press a paper sheet in accordance with a curling state of the paper sheet and the thickness of the paper sheet. SOLUTION: A printer as this image forming apparatus includes a discharge part 18 discharging a paper sheet with an image fixed thereon to a sheet discharge tray 13. A pressing member 30 displaceable in the direction releasing the pressing on the paper sheet from a pressing position capable of pressing the paper sheet arranged on the downstream side of the discharge part 18 in the discharge direction. The pressing force of the pressing member 30 to the paper sheet can be properly changed in accordance with the intensity of the curl of the paper sheet and the thickness of the paper sheet by a twisted coil spring 41 and a lever 45 being a pressing force change means 40. Thereby, the curl of the paper sheet can be corrected without causing a paper jam or a pushing-out phenomenon of the paper sheet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT
