A method and system for the terminal to obtain the P-CSCF address. The system includes a terminal, a foreign agent in the Access Service Network, an AAA server and a Home Agent in the Connect Service Network, and a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server. Wherein, in the system, the home agent is equipped with a dynamic host configuration protocol (DHCP) agent module or a DHCP relay module, which is utilized to realize an agent or a relay function of the DHCP. A processing terminal of the home agent is utilized to transmit the DHCP message via the counter channel and obtain the P-CSCF address information and feed back the P-CSCF information to a terminal. The terminal can obtain the P-CSCF address and then access the P-CSCF through the WiMAX network, access the IMS network, and enjoy the IMS service by this method and system of the present invention.
