The method involves receiving millimeter wave signal of a position module (10) of a landing surface (4) by receiver units (20). An evaluation unit determines a position of a gyroplane (8) relative to the position module, from signals of the receiver units. The three receiver units are spaced from each other at the gyroplane. An independent claim is included for a device for independent landing of a gyroplane, which has a sensor module with three receiver units spaced from each other at gyroplane.
