METHOD OF INSPECTING OIL-FILLED ELECTRICAL APPARATUS

A method by which an abnormality in an oil-filled electrical apparatus caused by the generation of copper sulfide can be detected with satisfactory precision even when the insulating oil is used in a slight amount. This method of inspecting an oil-filled electrical apparatus is for detecting an abnormality in an oil-filled electrical apparatus having a copper part disposed in an insulating oil. The method comprises determining either of bibenzyl and dibenzyl sulfide contained in the oil of the oil-filled electrical apparatus and judging the degree of an abnormality in the oil-filled electrical apparatus based on the amount of the compound determined. Thus, the abnormality in an oil-filled electrical apparatus caused by the generation of copper sulfide can be detected by determining a specific substance. The abnormality can hence be detected with satisfactory precision even when the insulating oil is used in a slight amount.
