The invention relates to the field of chemistry, namely to a process for obtaining 11-bishormodrim-8(9)-en-12-one, intermediate compound for obtaining sesqui- and higher terpenoids. The process includes interaction of 11-bishomodrimane-8Alpha -ol-12-one solution in acetonitrile with trimethylsilylmethanesulphonate in equivalent ratio of 1:5, the obtained solution is maintained at the room temperature and continuous agitation up to the termination of the reaction according to the chromatographic control, and then the product is extracted and purified. The product yield is of 80%.
