<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform only post-processing of paper inserted from a paper inserting device in a paper processing system having a paper processing device connected with an image forming device. <P>SOLUTION: A post-processing power source SW of an inserter device is turned on, or a post-processing key of an operation panel only is turned on, so as not to depend upon a condition of a power source of an image forming device, such as ON/OFF or sleep. Then, an initial action of only the paper processing device is executed, so as to set post-processing contents from the operation panel. After the setting is completed, when a start key is pressed down, the paper is fed from any of upper and lower trays 4, 5 of the inserter device. The fed paper passes through a paper folding device and is conveyed to a bookbinding apparatus, and holes for rings are punched by a ring bookbinding apparatus. Then, they are loaded on an aligning tray. This action is repeated to a final paper of one section, and when the action reaches to the final paper of one section, the papers are bound with the rings and discharged to the bookbinding tray.
