PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current interrupting chamber of a power circuit breaker. SOLUTION: The current interrupting chamber (100) equipped with a moving assembly axially movable between a start position and an end position of an operation for opening a circuit breaker, is provided with a first compression chamber(106), a hollow drive tube (108) having ports (136) for bringing its interior into communication with the outside of the current interrupting chamber, a second compression chamber (120), and means (124, 134) for obstructing the ports of the drive tube as from the start position of an operation for opening the circuit breaker and up to an intermediate position which is reached between the position of separation of two arcing contactors from each other and the end position of an operation for opening the circuit breaker.
