PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head-mounted display device (HMD device) which is capable of simultaneously securing visibility and see-through property. SOLUTION: In the see-through type HMD device 1 equipped with an LCD 17 and an optical system which is arranged in front of the eyes E of a user, superimposes an image displayed on the LCD 17 on the scene of the visual field of the user and guides both to the eyes E of the user, the image displayed on the LCD 17 is changed based on visual field information from a brightness sensor 14 detecting the brightness of the visual field of the user.
