A shoe with an actively breathing sole consisting at least of one perforated outsole (12a) which is connected to the shank (16) of a shoe in a direct or indirect manner. Said shoe includes an actively breathing, non water-permeable film-type membrane (14A). In order to ensure that normal everyday shoes can breathe actively in an effective and economical manner without having a negative effect on the characteristics of the soles thereof, window-type openings (18) are provided in the outsole (12A) and the soles are sealed with an actively breathing unit (14) which consists at least of one membrane (14A).
