Method for operating a power plant and solar thermal power plant

The method involves evaporating a heat transfer medium i.e. water, endothermally by solar radiation in an evaporator section (12) comprising a set of evaporator branches (16a, 16b). The medium is distributed in the branches. Mass flow distribution is controlled at the evaporator section. Mass flows are adjusted individually at the evaporator branches. Spatial energy rise in a region of respective evaporator branch is characterized by a controlled variable, where the medium is not evaporated in the branch and a set point value of the variable is identical for the branches. An independent claim is also included for a solar thermal power plant, comprising an evaporator section.
