A washing device and a control method are provided to improve the benefit by removing the smell and sterilizing with the light. A washing device control method comprises: a step of receiving a signal of a light sterilization course; a step of supplying fine droplets of water to a drum; and a step for irradiating the sterilization light in the drum. The sterilization light comprises the ultraviolet ray. A step for supplying the hot air in the drum is added. The sterilization light is irradiated at the sterilization light irradiation step when the steam or the hot air is supplied.
