A Chlorella sorokiniana extract containing myristic acid, palmitic acid, palmitoleic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid, linolenic acid and stearic acid is provided to treat diabetes, obesity and dyslipidemia without side effects. A Chlorella sorokiniana extract comprises 0.1-5% of myristic acid, 10-60% of palmitic acid, 2-15% of palmitoleic acid, 2-15% of oleic acid, 2-15% of linoleic acid, 0.8-6% of linolenic acid and 0.5-5% of stearic acid on a dry weight of the Chlorella sorokiniana extract. The Chlorella sorokiniana extract additionally contains 0.8-6% of hexadecadienoic acid, 1.2-8% of hexadecenoic acid and 1.2-8% of octadecenoic acid. A composition for treating diabetes, obesity and dyslipidemia contains the Chlorella sorokiniana extract and pharmaceutically allowable carriers.
