<p>A method and apparatus for updating a serving cell includes: receiving a Radio Link, RL, SETUP REQUEST including a serving cell update time from Radio Network Controller, RNC; and; handing off a Node B cell into a serving cell at the update time according to the Radio Link SETUP REQUEST. The present invention simplifies the signaling flow of the target Node B, fully meets the requirements of the prior art in terms of functions, improves the processing speed of the serving cell, and shortens the delay of the signaling processing of the whole system without affecting the service throughput and soft switch. The decrease on the interaction signalings saves the transmit resources.</p> |
