A spark plug and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to reduce a cost by insulating a ground electrode and a central electrode without the insulating oil. An internal gasket(66) is inserted into a metal housing(50). An insulator(52) is inserted into the metal housing. The internal gasket is surface-contacted between the insulator and the metal housing. The filling powder(74) is supplied to the metal housing. An upper gasket(78) is inserted into the metal housing. The metal housing is cold-formed. The ground electrode is welded in the metal housing. The high voltage inspection is performed after insulating the ground electrode and the center electrode. The high voltage inspection is performed by an ionic current detecting apparatus. The electrode tip is welded in the ground electrode. The ground electrode is bent. |
