COMPOSITE POLYIMIDE ELECTROLYTE MEMBRANES AND FUEL CELL USING THE SAME

<p>A method for manufacturing a composite polyimide electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell is provided to obtain a thermally stable composite polyimide electrolyte membrane by changing the concentration of phosphoric acid and phosphomolybdic acid and to improve the conductivity of proton. A composite polyimide electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell is characterized in that a polyimide main chain comprises a benzimidazole group and the benzimidazole group is doped with an acid. A method for manufacturing a composite polyimide electrolyte membrane for a fuel cell comprises the steps of: synthesizing a benzimidazole pendant diamine group from benzimidazole; forming a polyamic acid including the pendant benzimidazole diamine group by reacting the pendant benzimidazole diamine group with oxyaniline and phthalic anhydride; and forming the composite polyimide electrolyte membrane by doping the polyamic acid including the pendant benzimidazole diamine group with the polyamic acid.</p>
