Provided is a human cancer growth-inhibiting gene 6(GiG6), which is used for treating and preventing human cancer or diagnosing human tumor. A human cancer suppressor gene has base sequence of SEQ ID NO:1,3, 5 or 7. A human cancer growth-inhibiting protein coded by human cancer suppressor gene has amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:2, 4, 6 or 8. An expression vector includes the human cancer suppressor gene. A transformed host cell is obtained by transforming the host cell with the expression vector. The host cell represents microorganism or zooblast. A gene having a base sequence of SEQ ID NO:1 inhibits cancer derived from womb, brain, heart, skeletal muscle, spleen, kidney, liver, placenta, lungs and peripheral leukocyte tissues. A gene having a base sequence of SEQ ID NO:3 prevents growth of liver cancer, leukemia, uterine cancer, malignant lymphoma, colon cancer, lung cancer and skin cancer.
