A memory device 2 is incorporated into the spine 3 of a book so that the publisher may offer their books with an audio version of its contents stored in the memory device. A connection port 1, like a mini USB or similar, may be provided on the book so that a purchaser may connect this to their external hard drive or computer and upload the contents of the memory device to their chosen device and listen to the book without having to carry the book around. Where there is not enough space in the spine for the memory device, it may alternatively be placed in the cover of the book. The memory device is placed into the spine or cover of the book before the pages are fixed into the book in the binding process. The manufacturer could lock the file with a password like a barcode. |
