发明名称 Structure of inline skates
摘要 An inline skate comprises a boot (10, fig. 1), base 21 secured to the bottom of the boot, and wheels (30, fig. 1) attached to the base. Wheel 31 includes a ratcheted disc or gear wheel 41 which selectively engages pawl 424, the gear wheel being moveable with respect to the pawl under the guidance of resilient connectors 513 in order to bring the gear wheel and pawl into and out of engagement. Wheel 31 is able to roll in both directions when the resilient connectors are uncompressed and pawl and gear wheel are disengaged (fig. 4). When base 21 is pressed downwardly, compression of resilient connectors 513 brings gear wheel 41 and pawl 424 into engagement which allows wheel 31 to roll in one direction, but not in the other direction (fig. 5). A gear wheel and pawl assembly may be arranged on the front wheel as a brake against rearward rolling, and/or may be arranged on the rear wheel as a brake during forward rolling (fig. 6). A gear wheel and pawl assembly arranged on the front wheel acts as a push off device by locking the front wheel against rearward rolling as it is pushed backwards against the ground. Pressing downwardly on the boot base may bring the gear wheel and pawl into engagement vertically. Alternatively (see fig. 8), pressing downwardly on the boot base causes the gear wheel and pawl to engage through horizontal movement.
