O-I-2O- tnl AU -pee A mounting 1 for a typical tank liquid level indicator comprising a rigid elongate stem 4 supported by a float 3 at a lower end and carrying visual indicator means 3 at an upper end. Typically the stem 4 projects through the an aperture 12 in top 2a of a tank 2 and the float 3 5 causes the stern 4 to rise and fall with the change in level of the liquid 6 in the tank 2. The mounting 1 comprises a mounting plate 7, mountable to tank top 2a by screws 13, and a clamp plate 8 adjustably attached, such as by bolts and nuts 16, to the mounting plate 7. A ball element 9 is pivotally retained between the plates 7, 8 in the form of a ball and socket type joint, The bald element 9 has a passage 9a therethrough and preferably includes spigots 9b, 9c 10 which extend the length of the passage 9a. The spigots 9b, 9c project into apertures 10a, 10b provided in the plates 7, 8. The stem 4 is slidingly accommodated in the passage 9a. In a set up mode (that is with the ball element 9 free to be rotated) in situ the mounting I can bt attached to a top 2a with the passage 9a generally vertically orientated. The stem 4, float 3 and indicator'5 can then be assembled in so doing the stem 4 being accommodated through the 15 passage 9a. Ideal true vertical orientation of the stem 4 can then he achieved by rotation, if need be, of the ball element 9 and the plate 8 then clamped to the plate 7 to lock the ball and socket joint arrangement and provide a fastened mode. Preferably the stem 4 is comprised of two sections 4a, 4b joined by screw-thread inserts 17 crimped 18 into the ends of stem 4. -CI ccc col U'j LL |
