A face image formation method for converting the predetermined face image into the face image of the optimized rate based on a mask template and an apparatus applied to the optimized rate are provided to convert the image about the predetermined object into the face image of the optimized rate. An image preprocessor(110) converts the image of object into the image for the face recognition execution. A facial area detector(120) extracts the corresponding face range based on image and the face region detecting part. A feature point extractor(130) extracts the feature points of the face range. A database unit(140) stores the mask template for forming the face image of the optimized rate. An image matching unit(150) matches feature points in the mast template. An image matching part forms the mapping rate between the feature points which mutually responds. An image converter(160) converts the face range into the face image of the optimized rate through the rendering processing based on the mapping rate.
