A backlight assembly making white light selected at all domains is provided to solve a problem about spreading from an edge part of the liquid crystal panel to the specific color by intercepting single color light inserted to the part of a light guide plate. A light emitting diode array(210) is arranged on the side of a light guide plate(220). An LED array comprises a light emitting diode(211) and housing(212). The housing fixes the light emitting diode. The light emitting diode provides the red, the green, and light of the blue to the light guide plate. The changed white light is supplied to the liquid crystal panel. The light guide plate is positioned between the reflective sheet and optical sheet. The reflective sheet reflects the light towards the light guide plate. The reflective sheet reduces the loss of the light. The reflective sheet improves the uniformity of the light transmitted in the light guide plate. The optical sheet removes after image. The optical sheet provides the light source having the uniform luminance distribution for the liquid crystal panel.
