A tool for chamfering plastic soil pipes comprises a main body section 1 provided with an abrasive area 2 mounted on a tapered surface 3 of the main body 1. The outer diameter of the tapered surface 3 is greater than that of the pipe to be chamfered, thereby allowing for variation in pipe diameter. The abrasive is carbide grit which has been brazed onto the tapered surface 3 which is steel. The abrasive occupies 20-50 % of the tapered surface 3. The tool can be fitted to a drive mechanism by means of a thread 4 or a taper. |
