Spacer (10) has a distal side stopper (20) resting against the body with a spacer element and with a device for the detachable attachment of the spacer of the medical instrument, extending over a longitudinal section of the shank with an opening, over which the spacer is attachable to the shank. The opening is designed as lateral slotted hole (14) over which the spacer is laterally designed to the shank. An independent claim is included for a spacer element.
