A packaging for a product comprises a plurality of conductive tracks 14 for forming a printed circuit on a sheet of material with a physical barrier, such as a hole 24, for impeding fluid flow between adjacent conductive tracks. The tracks 14 connect the terminals of an electronic device 11 which is attached with conductive adhesive 23. The barrier 24 prevents flow of the adhesive between the tracks to inhibit the formation of a short circuit between adjacent tracks. The barrier may alternatively be a wall or groove rather than a hole. The sheet material may be a container such as a box and may carry printed text or pictures made from ink layers 15 to 18. In this case the device 11 is connected to the tracks 14 with vias 22 through the ink layers. An apparatus for manufacturing the packaging is also described and may involve the use of a press or punch to form the barrier between the conductive tracks. |
