Method for configuring the security parameters of wireless networks

The method involves defining an individual complex key e.g. wireless local area network (WLAN)-key to a password. The code is stored in an individual data medium e.g. universal serial bus (USB)-memory card, having an installation software for a WLAN and/or local area network (LAN)-client. A barcode that is suitable for the key is applied on the medium and scanned from the medium. The key is permanently programmed in a WLAN-router-hardware during manufacturing of a WLAN-router. The key stored in the medium is automatically transferred into network settings of a client-computer.
