THICKNESS MEASURING METHOD OF THE INITIAL SOLIDIFICATION SHELL IN THE MOLD AND MEASUREMENT ASSISTANCE APPARATUS USEDED IN THE METHOD

A method for measuring the thickness of initial solidification layer in a mold and a measurement assistance device used for the method are provided to measure the thickness in various positions by performing the thickness measurement while maintaining the original form of a mold sample. A method for measuring the thickness of initial solidification layer in a mold comprises a first step of punching a measurement hole(13) on the surface of a mold sample(10), a second step of removing the processing residue in the mold sample by using a grinding stone, and a third step of setting a measurement reference position by inserting a measurement assistant device in the measurement hole and measuring the thickness of the measurement hole by using a contact gauge.
