A display apparatus and method for compensating beam tilt is provided to reduce a time for assembly by matching the position of a color to a color image. A plurality of monochromatic light sources(110) of the display device radiates light having different wavelength. A light modulator(130) receives light and modulates it according to a control signal. A controller(170) outputs a control signal corresponding to the video signal and controls the monochromatic light source. The Controller controls the modulated luminance of the pixel driving sign of the light modulator so that the pulse tilt of the scanned monochrome scan image is compensated on the display screen.
