A portable terminal and a method for displaying menu thereof are provided to easily grasp not only a neighboring upper menu but also hierarchical relation between upper menu and lower menu. An upper menu is indicated on a display screen as a list(211). When an upper menu is selected, the selected upper menu as described above and a next upper menu of the selected upper menu as described above are indicated on both ends of the respective display screen(219). A lower menu of the selected upper menu as described above is indicated as a list between the selected upper menu as described above and the next upper menu. When one of the lower menus is selected, the selected lower menu as described above is executed(231,233).
