Sterilization method and apparatus are provided, which reduce the loss of the illuminance which is generated when transmitting the light source. A sterilization apparatus comprises: a cut-out unit which dually blocks the harmfulness of the ultraviolet ray through the safety system for the anti-ultraviolet respectively installed at the inside and outside of the housing(10); a control unit for controlling the cut-out unit from the inside of the housing; and a housing which includes a sterilization unit using the optical fiber and UV LED and a UV LED module(20) and is used as the storage space and the space for decoration.
