A system for providing an advertisement service and a method thereof are provided to enable a user to immediately confirm advertisement data and its detailed information by immediately requesting the advertisement data through an advertising unit. An application server(30) registers and provides at least one AD data and its detailed information. An advertising unit(20) receives and outputs the AD data from the application server. A portable terminal(10) is connected to the advertising unit to request the AD data through the advertising unit. The portable terminal and advertising unit are connected through the short-range wireless communications method.
