An ordinary mattress normally used by a person having difficulty in taking refuge by oneself such as a person having difficulty in walking and a bedridden parson can be utilized as one component of a stretcher by attaching a mattress cover, and a person lying thereon can be safely transported to a safe place and evacuated. A mattress cover for disaster time transportation in which the cover attached to the mattress by an attaching part and covering the mattress is provided, at positions corresponding to the corners of the mattress, with grip portions, and one end of each of a plurality of securing belts stretching in the width direction of the attached mattress is secured to a position corresponding to the longitudinal side edge of the mattress.
