METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TRANSMISSION OF DIGITAL AUDIO IN SPDIF FORMAT TO ONE OR MORE RECEIVERS

A method and a system for transmitting the digital audio of an SPDIF format while using a single audio decoder are provided to improve the efficiency by using the single audio decoder. An SPDIF(Sony/Philips Data Interface Format) packetizing unit packetizes one or more decoded SPDIF data frame(502a). The SPDIF packetizing unit transmits one or more SPDIF packet with one or more receiver/de-packetizing unit through one or the networks supporting the communications of packet-base(504a). The transmitted SPDIF packet is received in the SPDIF data processing block. The decoded SPDIF audio is extracted from the SPDIF packet in which the SPDIF de-packetizing unit is received(506a).
