An image detecting apparatus and a method thereof, and a recoding medium for image detecting are provided to increase the accuracy to detect human skin image in pornographic contents by converting a received image into HSV(Hue, Saturation, Value) image to determine human skin image. A storage(400) stores the map information. The map information comprises a range of color of a skin image obtained from color of a skin model defined in an arbitrary color space and saturation. An image transformation unit(100) converts the received first image into the HSV image. An image selecting device(200) classifies the skin area and non-skin area by measuring the color and saturation of the HSV image. An image detection unit(300) determines whether the first image is the skin image or not by matching the color and saturation of the classified skin area in the map information. The image detection unit determines whether the color and saturation of the classified skin area are satisfied the range of the color of the skin image included in the map information. In case it is satisfied, the image detection unit stores the first image. |
