RF READER AND DETECTION METHOD FOR TAG THEREOF

An RF reader and a tag detecting method thereof are provide to enable the RF reader to perform a tag detection operation without the control of an MCU(Micro Control Unit). An MCU(200) is operated in a sleep mode during the tag detection operation of an RF reader(100). The first oscillator(400) produces the first oscillation signal. A tag detector(300) enables or disables the first oscillator by a predetermined period, and outputs a tag detection signal according to the first oscillation signal outputted from the enabled first oscillator. A transceiver(500) transmits the tag detection signal to the outside or provides a tag response signal received from the outside to the tag detector. The tag detector comprises the second oscillator, a counter, a switching part and a detection part.
