The invention relates to chain-type polycycles that comprise 2 to 12 chain-end cycles that are the same or different, selected from 1,3-phenyls, 1,4-phenyls, 2,6-naphthyls, 2,7-naphthyls, 1,4-cyclohexyls, bicyclopentyls, bicyclooctyls and cubyls that may be mono- or polysubstituted with halogen, cyano, alkyl, fluroalkyl, alkoxy and/or fluoralkoxy, and wherein the cycles are linked by bridges, selected from a single bond, -CF2O-, -OCF2-, -O-, -S-, -SO2-, -CO-, -NH-, -(CH2)1-10-, -(CF2)1-10-, -CH(CH3)-, -CH(CCl3)-, -CH(CF3)-, C(CH3)2-, -C(CF3)2-, -CC-, -CH=CH-, -CF=CH-, -CH=CF-, -CF=CF-, (1) and (2), with the proviso that at least one bridge is -CF2O- or -OCF2-, and the polycylces on both chain ends have reactive terminals, selected from -OH, -NH2, -NCO, -NCS, -OCOCl, -COCl, -COF, -COOH, -COO-alkyl and a carboxyclic acid anhydride group. |
