The lightweight structural concrete useful as construction material, comprises a hydraulic binder, water (7-9.5 wt.%), 19 wt.% of expanded schist gravel or clay, 15-30 wt.% of fly ash, expanded lime, pumice and/or pozzolan, 15-40 wt.% of light sand, air (7-16 vol.%), 35 wt.% of schist sand, 19.5 wt.% of expanded clay sand, and a superplasticizer such as a polyoxide polycarboxylate. The expanded schist gravel or clay has a density of 1.28-1.29. The expanded clay sand has an actual density of 1.1-1.2. The expanded schist sand has a mass-volume of 1.85-1.95. The size of gravel is 4/8 mm. An independent claim is included for a process for making lightweight structural concrete.
